Southern Vietnam offers a diverse range of educational experiences that will engage both students and educators. Rich in culture, history, and tradition, the region is shaped by the fertile Mekong Delta, bustling urban centres, and vibrant rural communities. While Vietnam has experienced remarkable economic growth in recent decades, students will also gain an understanding of the social and economic challenges that continue to exist.
Designed to promote meaningful cultural immersion, this 8-day program provides students with valuable insights into the daily lives, traditions, and communities of southern Vietnam. Highlights include exploring the remarkable Cu Chi Tunnels, participating in a Great Race-style challenge through the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, discovering the city's historic Chinatown, staying with a local family in the Mekong Delta, and experiencing the region's unique waterways and villages.
A central feature of the tour is its service-learning component. Working alongside local community members, students will contribute to a meaningful project by helping to build a brick home for a family or assisting with repairs to a rural school. These hands-on experiences encourage teamwork, resilience, cross-cultural understanding, and an appreciation of the positive impact that collaborative community projects can achieve.
